William Shockley Obituary

William H. "Bill" Shockley, 97, of Scottsville, KY passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022 at the Alvin C. York Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN. The Fountain Run, KY native was a farmer, World War II U. S. Army veteran and member of Fountain Run Old Missionary Baptist Church. He was the son of the late William Hershel Shockley and Wyna Milta Hagen Shockley and husband of the late Peggy Jane Berry Shockley.

He is survived by his wife: Mattie Carver Shockley, Scottsville, KY;

1 step daughter: Janet Cheesman, Scottsville, KY;

3 grandchildren: Christopher Aaron Cheesman (Leslie), Raymond Michael Vaughn (Sarah) and Brandi Elizabeth Vaughn;

2 great grandchildren: Rebekah Cheesman and Addyson Chapman;

Several cousins.

He was preceded in death by a step daughter: Sandy Spearman.

There will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation was chosen and burial will be at a later date in Crescent Hill Cemetery. Goad Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
