William Shelby Boards, 69, of Park City, KY and formerly of Scottsville, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY. The Scottsville, KY native was a former assistant for Dr. Allen, former employee of the Park City Post Office and member of Ward's Chapel A. M. E. Church. Shelby was an avid cook and loved being with family and friends. He was a son of the late William Hudson Boards and Annie Bell Carpenter Boards.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years: Emma Boards, Park City, KY;
1 brother: Owen T. Boards (Kim), Scottsville, KY;
1 sister: Anna Allen (Scotty), Glasgow, KY;
Several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 5 sisters: Lena, Wanda, Lisa, Greta Faye and Rita Boards and 1 brother: Virgil Boards.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday at Goad Funeral Home with Rev. Melanie Samuel-Black and Rev. Matthew Smyzer officiating and burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home.
