Vernon Eugene Tabor, Sr.

Vernon Eugene Tabor, Sr., 86, of Portland, TN passed away Saturday, July 19, 2025 at his residence.  He was born in St. Louis, MO to the late Festus Otto Tabor and Mildred Marie Parsons Tabor.  He was retired salesman, member of the Scottish Rite and 49 year member of Graham Lodge #208 F  & A M.  

He is survived by a daughter:  Sharon Tabor Cheek and husband, Stephen, Scottsville, KY;

A daughter-in-law:  Gail Tabor, Scottsville, KY; 

2 brothers:  Don Tabor (Nancy), Wentzville, MO and Rich Tabor (Mary Lou), Lebanon, MO; 

1 sister:  Linda Schiele, St. Louis, MO; 

6 grandchildren:  Michelle Pruitt (Rob), Susan Smith (James), Brad Tabor (Lori), Holly Webb (Alex), Cody Cheek (Morgan) and Cain Cheek (Veronica); 

16 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his wife:  June Elizabeth Renick Tabor; a son:  Vernon Tabor, Jr.; a daughter:  Karen Tabor Horton and 1 brother:  Jim Tabor. 

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2025 at Goad Funeral Home with Matt Pedigo officiating and burial in Smiths Grove Cemetery with Bro. Chuck Pruitt officiating.  Graham Lodge #208 F & A M will hold masonic rites at 1:00 p.m. at Goad Funeral Home.  Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Sunday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home.
