Susie Wood Obituary

Susie Lavern (Tracy) Wood, 88, of Scottsville, KY passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at Hospice House of Southern Kentucky. She is celebrating her 89th birthday tomorrow in heaven. The Scottsville, KY native was a Scottsville High School graduate (receiving her GED as a proud Pointer), a former employee of Washington Overall Manufacturing Company, Scotscraft Corp., G.E., A.O. Susie was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved deeply and unconditionally. Each grandchild and great grandchild seemed to bring her more joy as her life and their lives progressed. Her youngest great grandson Art entertained her endlessly and was the source of much laughter. He had a special bond with Grandma. Susie was blessed to experience love growing up in a large family. She loved spending time with them and remained close to her siblings and their families. Susie enjoyed reading, gardening, quilting and traveling. She enjoyed any and all vacations especially to the beach. Susie valued her friendships and cherished the times she spent with her best friend, Mary Meador. Susie loved her Lord and Savior, growing in her faith, depending on and trusting in God throughout her life. She will be missed by her friends, family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and most especially her devoted daughters.
