Steve DeFord

​Steve DeFord, 66, of Scottsville, KY passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2017 at his residence.  The Indianapolis, IN native was a Viet Nam U. S. Navy veteran, former manager of Damon's and Ruby Tuesday in Athens, OH, former chef at Disney World and former RN at the Tulane Medical Center in Louisiana.  He was the son of the late Hazel DeFord. 

​He is survived by his lifelong companion:  Thelma Willis, Scottsville, KY;

1 daughter:  Rebecca Kemery, Arizona;

Thelma's sons:  Eugene Willis; Terry Willis and wife, Tina; and David Willis and wife, Alisa, all of Athens, OH;

​11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Goad Funeral Home with Chaplain Bob Ward officiating and cremation to follow.  Visitation will be after 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Goad Funeal Home.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations for funeral expenses.  Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
