Shirley (Vandiver) Sikes

Shirley Vandiver Sikes, 78, of Scottsville, KY passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at her residence.  The Henderson, TN native was a retired employee of General Electric in Selmer, TN where she worked for 30 1/2 years, a member of Pinson Church of God where she formerly served as Sunday School teacher, church clerk and song leader.  She was a member of the Church of God organization for over 40 years and attended East Willow Church of God.  She was a daughter of the late Lawrence Calvin Vandiver and Ruthie Goodrum Vandiver. 

She is survived by her husband of over 40 years:  Jackie Sikes, Scottsville, KY; 

1 son:  David Sikes, Henderson, TN; 

1 special daughter:  Crystal Spencer and husband, Donavon, Scottsville, KY; 

A daughter-in-law:  Vikki McDaniels, Henderson, TN; 

3 sisters-in-law:  Jewel Vandiver, FL; Geneva Vandiver, TN and Laurine Vandiver, AZ; 

3 grandchildren:  Triana Sikes, Henderson, TN; Mary Kock and Josh Sikes, both of South Carolina and 1 special grandson:  Jonathan Overton, Scottsville, KY; 

1 great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by a son:  Phillip Sikes; 1 sister:  Viola Riley; 3 brothers:  Troy Vandiver, Roy Vandiver and William Vandiver. 

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at East Willow Church of God with Bro. Danny Patrick and Bro. Keith Patrick officiating.  Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday until funeral time at East Willow Church of God.  Goad Funeral Home is in charge of the local arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Southern Kentucky.  Donations may be made at the church or Goad Funeral Home.   Funeral service in Pinson, TN will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday at Pinson Church of God with Sister Crystal Spencer and Bro. James McKinney, Jr. officiating and burial in Big Springs Cemetery.    Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. until funeral time at Pinson Church of God.  Shackleford Funeral Directors/Johnson Chapel in Henderson, TN are charge of the arrangements.
