Shirley Jean Gilliam, 86, of Adolphus, KY passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville, KY. The Wheatcroft, KY native was a homemaker, former seamstress and member of Carter's Tabernacle Church of God of Prophecy. She was a daughter of the late Martha Francis Beshear Adamson and wife of the late Jesse Austin Gilliam.
She is survived by 1 daughter: Rosemary Gilliam, Westmoreland, TN;
A son-in-law: Jeff Hunt, Temple Hill, KY;
5 grandchildren: Jenny Phillips; Jessica Hunt; Haley Perkins (Michael); Sarah Gilliam and Davey Wilson (Monica);
Several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 1 daughter: Elizabeth Hunt; 3 sons: James A. Gilliam, Jackie A. Gilliam and Jesse "Shorty" Gilliam, Jr.; 3 brothers: Buddy, Harold and Hilton Adamson and 1 sister: Nadine Lifford.
Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Goad Funeral Home with burial in Carter's Tabernacle Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. until funeral time Saturday at Goad Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations for funeral expenses. Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
