Shirley C. Carter, 84, of Scottsville, KY passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at the Medical Center at Scottsville. The Scottsville, KY native was a homemaker, former employee of Washington Overall Manufacturing, White Plains Elementary, Lifeskills and Shady Brook Laundromat and attended East Willow Church of God. She was the daughter of the late Henry Bethel Stinson and Eunice Louise Perry and wife of the late Billy Ray Carter.
She is survived by her 10 children: Mary Collins (Buddy), Elzie Carter, Libby Frost (Harold), Reta Goad (Tommy), Joe Carter, Sue Blankenship (Freddy), Lori Pennington (George), Lana Stovall (Scotty) and Amanda Holland (Lee), all of Scottsville, KY and Sarah Carter (Robin), White House, TN;
27 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren and
Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Patrick and Bro. Jeremy Carter officiating and burial in Allen County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and after 8:00 a.m. Sunday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home. According to the Kentucky Funeral Director's Association social distancing and face mask are recommended and no PUBLIC lounge is available.
