Sherri Carter Obituary

Sherri Frost Carter, 66, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, peacefully entered the presence of Jesus on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the Hospice House in Bowling Green after a courageous journey. While her family grieves her absence, they find comfort in knowing she is reunited in Heaven with the love of her life, her husband, Jeffrey Calvin Carter. A native of Scottsville, Kentucky, Sherri was a retired employee of the Bowling Green Social Security Office, where she faithfully served for 31 years. She earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Western Kentucky University, was a former preschool teacher at Bowling Green Christian Academy to be with her grandson, Ryder, and devoted more than three decades as a faithful member and volunteer at Hillvue Heights Church. More than any title or accomplishment, Sherri will be remembered as "Granmommy." Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She had a beautiful smile, a gentle heart, and a way of making those around her feel deeply loved. She treasured every moment spent with her family, and the love she poured into them will continue to be one of her greatest legacies. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffrey Calvin Carter; her parents, Vernon Woodruff "Sonny" Frost, Jr. and Wilma Nell Wheat Frost.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Caitlan Hogue and husband, Cody, of Bowling Green, Kentucky; her beloved grandchildren, Ryder Franklin Hogue and Jack Calvin Hogue; her sister, Malissa Williams and husband, Mark, of Scottsville, Kentucky; her niece, Marideth Trammel and her children, Maddox, Madalyn, and Marit, all of Scottsville; and her nephews, Mackenzie Williams and wife, Maelie, of Scottsville, Macey Williams and fiancée, Kristina, of White House, Tennessee, and Madison Williams and wife, Gretchen, and daughter, Audrey, of Bowling Green.

Though our hearts are broken, we rejoice in knowing that Sherri's faith has become sight. Her beautiful smile, kind spirit, and unconditional love will be deeply missed until the day we are together again.
