Samantha Sue Stotts, 78, of Scottsville, KY passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Cal Turner Rehab and Specialty Care. The Scottsville, KY native was a homemaker, former in-home caregiver and member of Cedar Cross Missionary Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Harlan Lewis Gunnels and Alma Mae Spencer Gunnels.
She is survived by 1 daughter: Christy Napier and husband, Doug, Adolphus, KY;
1 step daughter: Gina Quinlin, Indianapolis, IN;
2 brothers: Tommy Gunnels and wife, Brenda, Scottsville, KY and Tony Gunnels, Bowling Green, KY;
3 grandchildren: Spencer Napier (Kaitlyn), Nick Napier and Parker Stotts;
4 great grandchildren: Camden Napier, Maddix Slaughter, Ryland Gillock and Emery Napier;
Several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son: James Anthony Stotts; 2 sisters: Wallace Houchens and infant Donna Kay Gunnels; 2 brothers: Steve Gunnels and Larry Wayne Gunnels.
Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Goad Funeral Home. Cremation was chosen, and Goad Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations for funeral expenses. Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
