Ruth L. Hooten Brown, 101, of Scottsville, KY passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at her residence. She was born in Browning, KY to the late Zeb Hooten and Maggie Cox Hooten. She married T. D. Brown, Jr. on August 6, 1940, and they were blessed with six children.
She is survived by 1 son: Donald Brown and wife, Rosie, Scottsville, KY;
3 daughters: Wanda Samson and husband, David, and Pat Bray and husband, Junior, all of Scottsville, KY; Jenice Harper and husband, Eddie, Adolphus, KY;
2 daughters-in-law: Janice Brown and Lita Brown, both of Scottsville, KY;
1 brother: Howard Hooten, Bowling Green, KY;
1 sister: Anna Lou Smith, Bowling Green, KY;
19 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 2 sons: David Brown and Fred Brown; 3 sisters: Dorthy Hooten, Francis Sanders and Edna Bell; 3 brothers: Henry Hooten, Bill Hooten and James Hooten and sibling twin infants.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025 at New Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Mission with Brian M. Perkins and Bro. Joseph Brown officiating and burial in New Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Goad Funeral Home and after 10:00 a.m. Saturday until funeral time at New Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Mission.
