Ronald Glen Steele

Ronald (Ron, Ronnie) Glen Steele, 76, of Scottsville, KY left his earthly home for his Heavenly Home Friday, May 5, 2023 on his 56th wedding anniversary after a lengthy illness with cancer and other health problems.  The Bowling Green, KY native was a former route salesman for Nehi Royal Crown Cola for several years, Wholesale Floral Sales over twenty years and after his retirement an HCR Express mail carrier.  He was saved in a fall revival at Greenwood Baptist Church in October 1976 and was a member of Beech Grove General Baptist Church for 35 years.  With his attendance and support to the church, he loved to sing in the choir and took pride mowing the church grounds and cemetery for 30 years.  He attended Old Liberty General Baptist Church over the last three years as his health allowed.  He is a son of the late Lurie P. Steele and Alma Dean Steenbergen Steele. 

He is survived by his wife of 56 years:  Mary Shrum Steele, Scottsville, KY; 

2 sons:  Troy Steele and wife, Robin, and Brian Steele and wife, Susan, all of Scottsville, KY; 

3 grandchildren:  Brandon Steele (wife, Kayla), Christopher Steele (future granddaughter-in-law, Katy Smith) and Shawna Steele (future grandson-in-law, Johnathan Toby); 

3 great grandchildren:  Shelby, Olivia and Brayden Steele; 

2 brothers:  Steve Steele (Phyllis) and Buddy Steele, all of Bowling Green, KY; 

5 sisters:  Phyllis Oliphant, Jo Evelyn Steele, Jan Pearson (Gerald) and Sue Nalley (Bernie), all of Bowling Green, KY and Teresa Newby (Ernie), Callahan, FL; 

3 sisters-in-law:  Mary Rose Steele, Martha Steele and Linda Steele; 

Several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by a sister:  Carolyn Kersey; 3 brothers:  George Steele, Robbie Steele and Bill Steele; a sister-in-law:  Delores Steele and a brother-in-law:  Maurice Oliphant. 

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Moore and Bro. Danny Patrick officiating and burial in Beech Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 7:00 a.m. Wednesday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home.
