Richard L. Kelsey

Richard L. Kelsey, 79, of Scottsville, KY passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Signature Health Care in Bowling Green, KY.  The Louisville, KY native was a former employee of General Electric, A. O. Smith, Woodstock Mills, Sumitomo and Dominos and a member of Ward's Chapel AME Church.  He was a son of the late of Albert Kelsey, Sr. and Margaret Barkley McClain and husband Rev. Oliver W. McClain, who raised Richard, and husband of the late Janet Lee Hunt Kelsey. 

He is by 1 son:  Richard Dunn, KY; 

2 daughters:  Tina Kelsey and Shuvon Doyle, both of Louisville, KY; 

3 sisters:  Edna Jones, Pansy McClain and Loretta McClain, all of Louisville, KY; 

5 grandchildren:  Keanna M. Steward, Grant D. Brown, Brittney Forrest, Amber Sloan and Tamika Goff; 

1 great grandson:  Nicholas Steward and other great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by a daughter:  Jennifer Nicole Brown and a brother:  Albert Kelsey, Jr. 

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Goad Funeral Home with Rev. Shawn Sales and Rev. Howard Cobb officiating and burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Saturday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home.
