Rev. Danny Ray Smalling, Sr.

Rev. Danny Ray Smalling, Sr., 72, of Scottsville, KY passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021 at his residence.  The Scottsville, KY native was a retired deputy for the Allen County Sheriff's Office, former security officer for the Allen County Judicial Center, retired employee of G.E. and A. O. Smith, founder and pastor of Calvary Mission Pentecostal Church and loved singing and preaching.  He was a son of the late Ervin Oslin Smalling and Velma Mae Shockley Smalling and husband of the late Brenda Lois Cooper Smalling. 

He is survived by 1 son:  Danny Ray Smalling, Jr., and wife, Jennifer, Scottsville,  KY; 

2 daughters:  Kim Oakes and Shannon Smalling, both of Scottsville, KY; 

1 brother:  Larry Smalling, Scottsville, KY; 

3 sisters:  Mildred Sloan and Geneva Jenkins, both of Scottsville, KY and Eula Mae Harrison, IN; 

10 grandchildren:  Matthew (Emily), Colt, Luke, Jaden, Layla, Ciera, Adalyn, JeJe, Courtney and Kye; 

5 great grandchildren:  Valerie, Natalie, Gracie, Allie and Hadley;

1 unborn great granddaughter and 

Several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by 1 granddaughter:  Brooklyn Smalling; 1 grandson:  Ty Dodson; 2 sisters:  Alice Isenberg and Katherine Meador; a half brother:  Sharpy Garmon. 

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Patrick officiating and burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 7:00 a.m. Wednesday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home.  According to the Kentucky Funeral Director's Association social distancing and face masks are required, and there is NO PUBLIC lounge available.
