Rev. Cecil Hurt

Rev. Cecil Hurt, 95, of Scottsville, KY passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at Greenwood Nursing and Rehab in Bowling Green, KY.  The Mt. Pisgah, KY native was a retired employee of South KY Purchasing Co. and a General Baptist minister since September, 1961, a member of Mt. Union General Baptist Church and Monticello Lodge #431 F & AM.  He was a son of the late Marion Cordell Hurt and Mary Blevins Hurt and husband of the late Edna Estine Slagle Hurt.

He is survived by 2 sons: Don Hurt, Scottsville, KY and Roger Hurt and wife, Waynette, Troy, OH;

1 daughter-in-law: Ann Hurt Durrett, Scottsville, KY;

1 sister: Marie Lawson, Marysville, WA;

2 half brothers: Denver Hurt and David Hurt, both of Scottsville, KY;

1 half sister: Glada Costello Hastings and husband, Albert, Westmoreland, TN;

6 grandchildren: Shannon Hurt, Tracy Ward (Taylor); Cheryl Hurt; Amy Hurt; Brian Hurt (Stacey) and Eric Hurt (Jerri)

5 great grandchildren: Cody Hurt; Jonathan Hill; Chase Ward; Joshua Hurt and Mattie Ward;

1 great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by 1 son: Randy Hurt; 1 brother: Wilby Hurt; 1 half sister: Jo Alice White.

Due to Covid 19 Pandemic there will be a private graveside service Friday at Mt. Union General Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Danny Patrick officiating.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Jude's. Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
