R J Morgan

R  J Morgan, 93, of Scottsville, KY passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Cal Turner Rehab & Specialty Care.  The Scottsville, KY native was a U.S. Air Force veteran, a cattle farmer, former employee of TVA and track drill operator for construction jobs.  He was a member of Oak Forest No. 2 Missionary Baptist Church where he was saved August 19, 1955.  He loved his church and served as deacon.  He is a son of the late Roy Maxie Morgan and Myrtle Oren Hatler Morgan. 

He is survived by his wife of 71 years:  Willo Dean Morgan, Scottsville, KY; 

1 son:  Marty Morgan, Alvaton, KY; 

1 daughter:  Debra Woodruff and husband, Dean, Frankfort, KY; 

3 brothers:  Donald Morgan and wife, Marsha, Scottsville, KY; Judson Morgan and wife, Brownie, Lafayette, TN; W. A. Morgan and wife, Gail, Rogersville, AL; 

2 granddaughters:  Mendi Catron (Todd) and Melody Taylor (Daniel); 

3 great grandchildren:  Heath Catron, Esias Taylor and Quinn Taylor.

He was preceded in death by 1 brother:  Felix Morgan and 1 sister:  Alcy Ann Gillenwater. 

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Oak Forest No. 2 Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Matt Apple and Bro. Bart Barton officiating and burial in the Oak Forest Cemetery.  Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and 11:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Goad Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Oak Forest No. 2 Church or Oak Forest No. 2 Cemetery.  Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
