Phil McGuire

Phil McGuire, 75, of Scottsville, KY passed away Monday, February 17, 2020 at his residence.  The Glasgow, KY native was a former employee of General Electric and A. O. Smith, U.S.Army veteran, a founding member of Sweetwater Band and a life-long musician.  He was a son of the late William Howard McGuire and Aline Steenbergen McGuire. 

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Mohr McGuire, Scottsville, KY; 

3 sons:  Phillip H. McGuire II and wife, Pam, Anderson, IN; Dennis McGuire, Scottsville, KY and Michael McGuire and wife, Mary Collins, Lexington, KY; 

2 daughters:  Andrea "Andi" McGuire, Beckley, WV and Emily Guedea, Scottsville, KY; 

1 brother:  David McGuire and wife, Sandy, Columbia, TN; 

4 grandchildren:  Madelyn McGuire, Meredith McGuire, Avery McGuire and Levi Roark. 

Funeral service will be 12:00 noon Friday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Steve McGuire and Ron Keen officiating.  Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 7:00 a.m. Friday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center.  Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
