Maureen (Lawrence) Johnston

Maureen Lawrence Johnston, 93, of Cordova, TN passed away Friday, September 8, 2023 at Memphis Jewish Home in Cordova, TN.  The Scottsville, KY native was a homemaker and member of Mt. Union Methodist Church.  She was a daughter of the late Lewis Ray Lawrence and Blanche May Law Lawrence and wife of the late Norman Arvel Johnston. 

She is survived by 1 son:  Steve Johnston and wife, Shannon, Collierville, TN; 

1 daughter:  Linda Black and husband, Andy, Bartlett, TN; 

2 brothers:  Joe Lawrence and wife, Betty, Scottsville, KY and Kay Lawrence and wife, Wanda, Greenfield, IN; 

1 sister:  Patricia White and husband, Chuck, Huntsville, AL; 

2 sisters-in-law:  Genelle Lawrence, Scottsville, KY and Linda Lawrence, Franklin, KY; 

4 grandchildren:  Nathan Black (Laura), Jeffrey Black, Jessica Sweeney (Patrick) and Kristin Johnston; 

2 great grandchildren:  Gage Black and Kyra Black. 

She was preceded in death by a sister:  Mary Susan Walton (Hillous): 4 brothers:  Travis Lawrence (Sammy), James Lawrence, Lewis Lawrence and Glenn Lawrence; 4 sisters-in-law:  Ila Day, Eudell Griffith, Jean Waldrond and Patty Lawrence.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Chuck Pruitt officiating and burial in Mt. Union Cemetery.  Visitation will be after 12:00 p.m. until funeral time Sunday at Goad Funeral Home.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Mt. Union Methodist Church, Memphis Jewish Home & Rehab or The Alzheimer's Association.  Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
