Marlene Tinsley Britt, 83, of Orange City, FL died quietly and peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at her residence. She was born on June 30, 1941 in Scottsville, KY to the late Marvin Ellis Tinsley and Fannie Lilburn Wood Tinsley. Marlene married Larry Britt and moved around a bit and settled in Ohio, and there she birthed Marla, David and Matthew. The retired back in Kentucky where Larry passed away. Now, Matt lives near Marla in Cincinnati, and Marlene settled with David in Orange City, FL. She loved reading and wanted every day to be Saturday so she could attend church the next morning.
She is survived by her daughter: Marla Waldron and husband, Gene, Cincinnati, OH and their 3 children: Kayla, Gene III and Katie;
2 sons: David Britt and wife, Becky, Orange City, FL and their 12 children: Tabitha, Seth, Peter, DJ, Lydia, Elisha, Abi, Chloe, Andrew, Charity, Eve and Mariam and
Matt Britt, Cincinnati, OH;
16 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. David Britt and Bro. Chuck Doolin officiating and burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2025 and after 7:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2025 until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Southern Kentucky, T. J. Samson Hospice or Compassus (compassus.com). Local donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
