Malcom Thompson, 78, of Scottsville, KY passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at Tri-Star Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN. The Scottsville, KY native was a farmer, Mennonite transporter, former employee of Dollar General, Bluegrass Metals and P.I.C. He was a member of Red Hill General Baptist Church, where he served as Trustee, Deacon and Sunday school superintendent. He was a son of the late Lester Edgar Thompson and Wavie Jeanette Williams Thompson.
He is survived by his wife: Patty Thompson, Scottsville, KY;
1 son: Anthony Thompson and wife, Darla, Scottsville, KY;
1 brother: Oscar Thompson, Scottsville, KY;
3 sisters: Gladys Yates; Wanda Martin and husband, Eugene and Linda Herrington and husband, Lynn, all of Scottsville, KY;
1 grandson: Parker Thompson and fiancee', Madison Woods;
His mother-in-law: Jonell Chandler, Franklin, KY;
4 brothers-in-law: Delane Dyer and David Sullivan, both of Scottsville, KY; Sammy Chandler and wife, Louann, Woodburn, KY and Timmy Chandler and wife, Beverly, Franklin, KY;
1 sister-in-law: Kim Huffine and husband, Ricky, Franklin, KY and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 1 daughter: Jennifer Thompson; 1 brother: Earl Thompson; 2 sisters: Becky Dyer and Betty Sullivan; 1 sister-in-law: Gail Thompson; his father-in-law: James Chandler and 3 brothers-in-law: Elree Yates, Gary Chandler and Darrell Chandler.
Funeral service will be 12:00 Noon Monday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. David Towe officiating and burial in Red Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00 Noon to 8:00 P.M. Sunday and after 7:00 A.M. Monday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Red Hill Cemetery or Hands and Feet of Jesus.
