Leila Mae (Cain) McReynolds

​Leila Mae Cain McReynolds, 89, of Louisville, KY passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, KY.  The Artemus, KY native was a registered nurse having worked at Holley Carburetor, Bowling Green Hospital, Central State Hospital and the Kentucky Cabinet for Human Resources.  She attended Berea High School and College until she was old enough to enter Louisville General Hospital School of Nursing, graduating May of 1950.  She was a daughter of the late Homer and Margaret Beams Cain.  After being orphaned at age 13, she lived with Lucian and Elsie White the parents of her best friends, Cassie and Charlie.  She was married to John Arnold McReynolds on December 22, 1950 and were married for 34 years until his passing November 30, 1984. 

​She is survived by her children:  Nancy and Al Tomassetti, Jeffrey and Debbie Mc Reynolds, Marilyn and Doug Moore and Melinda and Stephen Swinney; 

Her grandchildren:  Carrie and Gregory Peterson, Catherine Tomassetti and Chris Sims, Brent Justice, Kimberly Justice and Steven Fitzner, Benjamin and Laura Tomassetti, Alan Tomassetti, Amanda Swinney and John Moore; 

Her great grandchildren:  Noah Peterson, Raegan Peterson, Aubrey Evans, Bradon Black, Kylee Black, Phoenix Fitzner and Cole Sims; 

​Her sisters-in-law:  Cornelia Jackson, Scottsville, KY; Dorothy Cain, Barbourville, KY and Sally Taggart, Nicholasville, KY;

​All of her Cain and McReynolds nieces and nephews and many others who lovingly called her "Mama Mac."

​Funeral services will be 12 noon Saturday at Goad Funeral Home with burial in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.  Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Goad Funeral Home.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donation to the Alzheimer's Association.  Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
