Larry Edward Whitney, Sr.

Larry Edward Whitney, Sr., 62, of Scottsville, KY passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at the Medical Center at Bowling Green.   The Scottsville, KY native was a painter and carpenter, avid UK fan and Pentecostal.  He was saved at Bro. Herbert Graves church when he was 26 years old and came back to God in 2021.  He was a son of the late Loren Edgar Whitney and Ruby Lee Martin Whitney. 

He is survived by his lifelong friend:  Karen Shrum, Scottsville, KY; 

1 son:  Michael Whitney and wife, Amanda, Scottsville, KY; 

3 daughters:  Laura Whitney, Melissa Whitney and Kara York, all of Scottsville, KY; 

2 brothers:  Kenneth Whitney and wife, Sandra, and Jerry Whitney and wife, India, all of Scottsville, KY; 

3 sisters:  Wanda Meador and husband, Johnny; Kay Johnson and husband, Eddie, and Kathy Gillock, all of Scottsville, KY; 

9 grandchildren:  Bradley Madden, Braxton Whitney, Austin Walker, Jezzie Whitney, Alexis Shoemaker, Cassie Whitney, Carson Glass, Peyton Glass and Allen Glass; 

2 great grandchildren:  Katie Madden and Kurtley Walker. 

He was preceded in death by a son:  Larry Whitney, Jr.; a granddaughter:  Brooke Lynne Whitney; a brother:  Loren "Pete" Whitney; 3 sisters:  Lena Henson, Barbara Whitney and Lisa Carol Whitney. 

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Kenny Whitney and Bro. Jerry Whitney officiating and burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be after 9:00 a.m. Saturday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home.
