L.H. Waller Obituary

Our beloved L.H. Waller passed away peacefully on March 19, 2024 at his residence in Bowling Green, KY, after a valiant battle with cancer and cardiovascular disease.  He was 82.

L.H. was born on October 15, 1941, to Vera Williams Waller and Levy Harold Waller in Fountain Run, KY.  He was a graduate of Allen County High School and attended Bowling Green Business University. Initially, L.H. began working for Gray Construction Company; however, after several years with Gray, he had a vision of starting his own construction company.  In 1975, he and three other partners formed Alliance Corporation, where he served as President until his retirement.  His love for the construction industry was one of the joys of his life.  He truly relished being on jobsites and seeing a concept become a reality.

After retiring from Alliance, he purchased a winter home on Lake Okeechobee in Florida, and he spent countless hours on the lake crappie fishing. He enjoyed telling "fishing tales" and socializing with a large group of friends.

Upon his return to Bowling Green, L.H. cherished spending time with his family and his church family at South Warren Church of Christ at Rich Pond, where he served as a deacon. His last major project was helping to supervise the construction of the New South Warren Church of Christ, where he was able to combine his love of construction and his love for the church.

L.H. is survived by his wife of 63 years: Carolyn Sue Waller, Bowling Green, KY;

2 daughters: Melissa Joiner (Paul), Bowling Green, KY; Marcella Waller (Tim), Dallas, TX;

2 granddaughters: Morgan Sorensen (Rylan) and Madison Head;

His nephew: Arlis Waller (Beckie), Glasgow, KY;

He was preceded in death by a brother: Nelson Waller.

Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Friday at South Warren Church of Christ with David Hamilton, Stacey Tucker and Roger Warren officiating and burial in Fountain Run Cemetery.  Visitation will be 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Goad Funeral Home and 9:00 A.M. until funeral time Friday at South Warren Church of Christ.

Just as he built buildings, L.H. built a life that encapsulated faith, love and generosity. He influenced so many people both in the construction industry and in the church, and he will be missed dearly by friends and family.
