Karen Jean Mathis

Karen Jean Mathis, 65, of Scottsville, KY passed away Monday, July 25, 2022 at the Medical Center at Scottsville.  The Beech Grove, IN native was a homemaker and a daughter of the late Billie Mathis and Donna Jean Sutton Mathis. 

She is survived by 1 son:  Michael Whitney (Amanda), Scottsville, KY; 

3 daughters:  Laura Whitney, Melissa Whitney and Kara York (Jeffrey Glass), all of Scottsville, KY; 

2 brothers:  Jerry Mathis, Russellville, KY and Billy Mathis, Iowa; 

3 sisters:  Sherri Mathis and Linda Mathis, both of Smiths Grove, KY and Susan Mathis, IN; 

9 grandchildren:  Bradley Madden, Braxton Whitney, Austin Walker, Jezzie Whitney, Alexis Shoemaker, Cassie Whitney, Carson Glass, Peyton Glass and Allen Glass; 

2 great grandchildren:  Katie Madden and Kurtley Walker. 

She was preceded in death by a son:  Larry Whitney, Jr.; a granddaughter:  Brooke Lynne Whitney; 1 sister:  Sharon Mathis and 1 brother:  Billie Mathis. 

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Whitney officiating and burial in Chestnut Point Cemetery.  Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Thursday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home.   In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations for funeral expenses.  Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
