Joe Ned Brooks

Joe Ned Brooks, 84, of Lakeland, FL and formerly of Scottsville, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at his daughter's residence in Scottsville.  The Hays, KY native was a former Pipefitter for Local 522 in Louisville, a retired employee of General Motors, member of Fairview United Baptist Church and Hays Masonic Lodge #517 F & A M.  He was the son of the late Carl Thomas Brooks and Jewell Pardue Williams and husband of the late Wanda Lorena Martin Brooks. 

He is survived by his wife:  Rosalie Brooks, Lakeland, FL; 

4 daughters:  Tina Poland, Scottsville, KY; Tamela Mitchell, Glasgow, KY; Theresa Douglas, Lakeland, FL and Wanda Raquel Lilly, Pomona, IL; 

10 grandchildren:  Deric Poland (Sarah), Eric Poland (Kendra), Hannah Davenport (Cory), Zac Douglas (Terry), Alexis Booker (Riko), McKinzie Patterson (Richard), Bryce Lilly, Melanie Adkins, Logan Mitchell (Julia) and Jodie Marie Brooks; 

3 great grandchildren:  Carter and Gracyn Poland and Poppy Davenport. 

He was preceded in death by a daughter: Jennifer Adkins; a son:  Jody Brooks and a sister:  Lela Nell Mellinger. 

Graveside service will be 4:30 p.m. Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Crescent Hill Cemetery with Bro. Chad Harston officiating.  Cremation was chosen and Goad Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.  Hays Masonic Lodge #517 F & A M will hold masonic rites at  4:30 p.m. at Crescent Hill Cemetery.
