Jimmy D. Mays, 75, of Scottsville, KY passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at his residence. He was born in Holland, KY to the late William Burton "Bill" Mays and Edna Marie Minix Mays. He was a retired employee of Tri-County Electric, U. S. Marine Corp veteran and black angus farmer. He was a member of the American Angus Association, Kentucky and Allen County Cattlemen's Associations and Board of Directors member of Farm Credit Bureau.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years: Dawn Mays, Scottsville, KY;
1 son: Jason Ellis Mays and wife, Christina, Scottsville, KY;
1 daughter: Jessica Mays Stuppy and husband, Brian, Scottsville, KY;
2 brothers: Carl Willie Mays, Glasgow, KY and Ralph Burton Mays and wife, Nancy, TN;
1 grandson: Ellis Stuppy;
4 step grandchildren: Logan and Ava Garmon and Brayleigh and Kenzie Epley.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Joan Thomas.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2026, at Goad Funeral Home with Jimmy Harston officiating and burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 7:00 a.m. Friday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home.
