Janice Hurt Pennington, 84, of Scottsville, KY passed away Saturday, July 5, 2025 at Lakeland Regional Hospital in Lakeland, FL. The Edmonton, KY native was a retired employee of Sumitomo and member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Russell Raymond Hurt and Mae Pauline Tabor Hurt and wife of the late Floyd Griffin Pennington.
She is survived by 1 daughter: Brenda Coy and husband, Harry, Lakeland, FL;
1 step son: Read Pennington and wife, Vickie, FL;
1 granddaughter: Amanda Anderson;
1 great granddaughter: Lindsey Edmonson and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 1 son: Guy Anderson, Jr.; 5 brothers: Raymond, Harvey, Wendell, Ray and Perry Hurt; 3 sisters: Catherine Dowell, Lovie Broady and Faye Howard.
There will be no visitation or service. Cremation was chosen. Goad Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
