James Roy Stinson, 67, of Scottsville, KY passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Cal Turner Rehab & Specialty Care. Roy was born in Scottsville, KY to the late Chester Lewis Stinson and Beatrice Long Stinson Meador. He was a graduate of Allen County Scottsville High School. Most of his life he lived in Morgantown, KY and Indianapolis, IN. He loved to sing gospel music and was in various gospel groups in Indianapolis for many years.
He is survived by 1 brother: William Dan Stinson (Jeanetta), Scottsville, KY;
1 step brother: Dennis Meador (Yetta), Bowling Green, KY;
2 step sisters: Sharon Green, Winchester, KY and Lisa Henderson (Paul), Morgantown, KY;
1 nephew: Chris Stinson;
1 niece: Tracy Stinson Davis;
2 great nephews: Codey Stinson and Blake Davis (Bethany);
1 great niece: Hailey Davis;
1 uncle: Lattie B. Long;
Several step nieces, step nephews and cousins survive.
He had a special pet...his cat, Ariel, that he loved like a child.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Lewis Ray Stinson; his step father: Ralph C. Meador and 2 step brothers-in-law: Bill Green and David Brooks.
Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m.Wednesday at Oak Forest No. 2 Cemetery with Bro. Terry Stinson officiating. Goad Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations for funeral expenses. Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
