Obituary

James "Sambo" Carter, 86, of Scottsville, KY passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green, KY.  The Adolphus, KY native was a retired employee of General Motors and a U. S. Army veteran.  He loved racing his stock car and was kind to everyone and loved children.  He was a son of the late Noah Allen Carter and Esmer Anderson Carter. 

 

He is survived by his wife:  Louise Carter, Scottsville, KY; 

1 sister:  Vera Mae Whitfield and husband, Otis, Scottsville, KY; 

2 nieces:  Angie Anderson and husband, Donnie, and Ginger Peay and husband, Shawn, all of Scottsville, KY; 

Several great nieces and great nephews. 

He was preceded in death by 1 sister:  Virginia Carter and 3 brothers:  Junior Carter, Fratis Carter and Jimmy Carter. 

 

Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Carter's Tabernacle Cemetery with Bro. Gary Pierce officiating and military honors by Ft. Campbell.  Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Goad Funeral Home.
