James E. Dinkins, 80, of Scottsville, KY passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022 at his residence. The Scottsville, KY native was a retired employee of Outokumpu Copper, a U.S. Navy veteran and member of Bethany Church of Christ. He was a son of the late Thomas Leo Dinkins and Pauline Grace Graves Dinkins.
He is survived by his wife: Barbara McDonald Dinkins, Scottsville, KY;
1 son: Timothy Edward Dinkins (Tabatha), Scottsville, KY;
1 daughter: Jennifer Payne, Scottsville, KY;
2 brothers: Earl C. Dinkins (Betty) and Arlee Dinkins (Junie), all of Scottsville, KY;
1 sister: Reba Cornwell, Scottsville, KY;
5 grandchildren: Heather Harrison (Chris); Amy Creek (Josh); Eric Payne (Casey); James Earl Dinkins; Jordon Dinkins (Anna);
11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 1 sister: Joyce Lambert and 1 great granddaughter: Revelin Meador.
Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon Thursday at Bethany Church of Christ with Bro. Johnny Tucker officiating and burial in Bethany Cemetery with military honors by the Simpson County Honor Guard. Visitation will be 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Goad Funeral Home and after 10:00 A.M. Thursday until funeral time at Bethany Church of Christ.
