Howard "Beanhead" Whelchel

Howard "Beanhead" Whelchel, 80, of Scottsville, KY passed away Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green, KY.  The Anderson, IN was a retired employee of Sumitomo, former salesman for Jim Johnson Nissan and member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church where he served as songleader and former Sunday School teacher.  He was a son of the late Earl James Whelchel and Beulah Whelchel. 

He is survived by his wife:  Shirley Owens Whelchel, Scottsville, KY; 

2 sons:  Kyle Whelchel and Shane Whelchel and wife, April, all of Scottsville, KY; 

3 grandchildren:  Wil Whelchel and wife, Taylor; Katie Whelchel and Lillie Whelchel; 

1 great granddaughter:  McKinley Whelchel. 

He was preceded in death by 1 sister and 3 brothers. 

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Costello and Bro. Darrell Costello officiating and burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Hopewell Building Fund.  Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
