Glyn Cooper

Glyn Cooper, 87, of Scottsville, KY passed away Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Cal Turner Rehab & Specialty Care.  The Scottsville, KY native was a former employee of the Allen County Detention Center, a U. S. Army veteran, formerly attended Gloryland Gospel Church and East Willow Church of God and a member and deacon of Living Water Full Gospel Church.  He was a son of the late William Ezra Cooper and Blanche Rob Herrington Cooper and husband of the late Sylvia Joyce Smalling Cooper. 

He is survived by 1 daughter:  Glenda Gentry and husband, Troy, Scottsville, KY; 

2 step daughters:  Donna Akers and Darlene Barrett, both of Scottsville, KY; 

5 step sons:  Laddie Melton, Ronnie Melton and Ken Melton, all of Scottsville, KY; Dale Melton, Stockton, CA and Jessie Cook, Portland, TN; 

1 brother:  Billy Cooper, Smyrna, TN; 

2 sisters:  Virginia Smith and husband, Wendell, Benton, KY and Eva Nell Orr, Smyrna, TN; 

1 grandson:  Shawn Dustin Gentry; 17 step grandchildren and several step great great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers:  C. W. Cooper (Sharon) and Jack Cooper (Beverly). 

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday at Goad Funeral Home with burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery with military honors by Glasgow DAV Chapter 20.  Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and after 7:00 a.m. until funeral time Monday at Goad Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Jude's.  Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
