Gerald "Jerry" Lewis, 97, of Glendale, AZ passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026, at his residence. The Scottsville, KY native was a retired employee of First American Title Company. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Emmanuel Lewis, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage built on love, commitment and an enduring partnership. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy from August 1950 to June 1954 during the Korean Conflict. He was stationed aboard the USS Prairie (AD-15) and was honorably recognized with the Navy Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with Star and the United Nations Service Medal. Following his military service, Jerry spent his working life as a barber, a profession he served his communities in both Kentucky and Arizona, known not only for his skill but for the conversations, friendships and trust he built in the barber's chair. He continued working until his retirement. Jerry will be remembered for his strong work ethic, devotion to family and honorable service to his country. His legacy lives on through those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by a sister-in-law: Verlene Emanuel;
1 nephew: Laney Emanuel (Pam), Pembroke, NC;
1 niece: Lisa Fisher (Malcolm), Key West, FL;
1 brother-in-law: Paul Emanuel, Corpus Christi, TX.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Mildred June Lewis and a brother: David Edward Lewis.
Graveside service will be 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at New Hope Cemetery with Bro. Tim Meador officiating and military honors by Glasgow DAV Chapter 20.
