Gelaine (Buchanan) Blankenship

Gelaine Buchanan Blankenship, 72, of Scottsville, KY passed away Sunday, March 20, 2022 at the Medical Center at Scottsville.  The Scottsville, KY native was a retired employee of Sumitomo and former employee of Canteen.  She was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and attended East Willow Church of God and Freedom Hill Church.  She was a daughter of the late Marsia Buchanan and Helen Cleone Whitlow Buchanan. 

She is survived by 1 son:  Stevie Blankenship and wife, Huberta, Scottsville, KY; 

1 daughter:  Tammi Wright and husband, Brian, Fountain Run, KY; 

1 brother:  Dave Buchanon and wife, Dianna, Scottsville, KY; 

4 sisters:  Trilby Brown and husband, Charles; Jeanette Carver and husband, Willie Earl; Carolyn Cox and Sandy Meador and husband, Felbert, all of Scottsville, KY; 

2 brothers-in-law:  Billy C. Calvert, Greenwood, IN and Ralph Blankenship and wife, Barbara, Scottsville, KY; 

1 sister-in-law:  Jo Cockrill, Fountain Run, KY; 

1 granddaughter:  Sarah Beth Wright; 

2 step grandsons:  Chris Herrington and Bradley Brown; 

1 great grandson:  Tanner Brown; 

Several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. John Meador and Bro. Kevin Carver officiating and burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 7:00 a.m. Wednesday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home.
