Fredonna (Steenbergen) Law

Fredonna Steenbergen Law, 75, of Scottsville, KY passed away peacefully Thursday, December 2, 2021 at her residence.  The Scottsville, KY native was a retired teacher for the Allen County School System where she taught for 27 years at Petroleum, White Plains Elementary and Scottsville Elementary.  She earned her education degree from Western Kentucky University in 1969.  She served as a board member of the Allen County Public Library and was proud to be a part of the library expansion project in 2007.   She was a regular at the Core of Scottsville where she loved water aerobics and line dance with her friends.   She was a member of Mt. Union United Methodist Church, U.M.W. and Buck Creek Homemakers for 25 years.   She was a former president and environmental chairperson of the Allen County Homemakers and was currently serving on the Coorperative Extension Building Facilities Council. She was a daughter of the late George Bryant Steenbergen and Gladys Lea Brady Steenbergen.  

She is survived by her husband of 56 years:  Tommy Law, Scottsville, KY; 

1 daughter:  Corey Hatcher and husband, Michael, Pee Wee Valley, KY; 

1 brother:  Charles Bennett "C. B." Steenbergen and wife, Ann, Scottsville, KY; 

1 sister:  Sena Fuqua and husband, Jim, Birmingham, AL; 

A sister-in-law:  Lisa Bicksler, Hodgenville, KY; 

Her beloved grandson:  Luke Henry Hatcher. 

She was preceded in death by a brother:  Joe Dell Steenbergen. 

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Jones officiating and burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday and after 7:00 a.m. Monday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society.  Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
