Freddie Lynn Spears, 68, of Scottsville, KY passed away Thursday, August 22, 2024 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY. The Scottsville, KY native was a retired employee of AT&T, member of CWA and Rough Creek Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a former song leader and Sunday School teacher. He was a son of the late Carline Spears and Lela Mae Napier Spears.
He is survived by his wife: Kay Spears, Scottsville, KY;
3 sons: Quentin Spears (Laura), Bardstown, KY; Marcus Spears (Stephanie), Murfreesboro, TN and Brady Lewis, Scottsville, KY;
4 daughters: Michelle Meredith (Kevin), Clarkson, KY; Martina Callahan (Joe), Brandenburg, KY; Shana Blankenship (Van), Portland, TN; Misti McCarty (Vince), Owensboro, KY;
1 brother: Jerry Spears (Jan), Gallatin, TN;
1 sister: Linda Egbert (Bill), Madisonville, KY;
19 grandchildren: Micah Spears (Taylor), Quendon Spears, Daniel Decker, Becca Hatfield, Finley Spears, Christopher Lewis (Bailee), Jordon Lewis, Trevor Lewis, Anastasia Meredith, Trey Marrero (Olivia), Sophia Callahan, Sadie Callahan, Jared Blankenship, Shavanna Blankenship, Ivy Rose Blankenship, Makayla McCarty, Jenna McCarty, Kayla Hernandez and Michael Eads;
5 great grandchildren: Graham Spears, Elisabeth Marerro, Isaac Lewis, Isabel Quetzalcoateco and Maria Hernanadez;
His favorite companion: Toby;
Multiple foster children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Katrina Spears and a brother: Danny Spears.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 26, 2024 at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Farrell Isenberg and Bro. Steve McGuire officiating and burial in Rough Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and after 7:00 a.m. Monday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Glendale Children's Home or Cumberland Valley School of Gospel Music. Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
