Forrest Lee "Smokey" Smotherman, 76, of Scottsville, KY passed away Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Cal Turner Rehab and Specialty Care. The Russellville, KY native was a member of the National Guard, former owner and operator of S & S Pawn Shop and a precious metal dealer. He was a son of the late Delcie Lee Smotherman and Frances Elizabeth Anderson Smotherman and husband of the late Shirley Jean Reels Smotherman.
He is survived by a special friend: Barbara Champion, Scottsville, KY;
2 sons: Jeffery Smotherman, Bowling Green, KY and Timmy Smotherman and wife, Sheila, Hardinsburg, KY;
1 daughter: Megan Lindsey Griffin, Scottsville, KY;
1 step daughter: Debbie Donovan and husband, Ronnie, Scottsville, KY;
1 brother: Terry Glen Smotherman and wife, Christa, Auburn, KY;
2 sisters: Sheila Armstrong, Russellville, KY and Judy Pearson and husband, Mervin, Dunmor, KY;
1 brother-in-law: Jr. Fuller, Russellville, KY;
10 grandchildren: Tara Lawrence, Cody Smotherman, Chelsea Smotherman, Timothy Smotherman, Tosha Smotherman, Shannon Donovan, Brittany Donovan, McKenzie Grissom, Harleigh Grissom and Leighton Adeline Cooke;
8 great grandchildren and
Several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a step son: Kevin Grissom; 1 brother: Earl Smotherman and 1 sister: Dorothy Fuller.
Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at New Community Fellowship Church with Bro. Steve Wilson officiating and burial in Carter's Tabernacle Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Monday until funeral time at the church. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations for funeral expenses.
