Ernest Risner, 81, of Scottsville, KY and formerly of Salyersville, KY passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026 at his residence. He was born March 24, 1944 in McGuffey, Ohio to the late George Risner and Lena Risner Howard and was a retired employee of Anderson Guardrail Company.
He is survived by 2 daughters: Margie Miller, Lexington, KY and Anna Lee Risner, Lima, OH;
3 brothers: Ira Howard, Paul Howard and Samuel Howard, all of Carlisle, KY;
2 sisters: Mary Louise Booth and Parrott Marie Sapp, both of Carlisle, KY;
14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Anna Faye Gipson Risner; 3 sons: Kash Gipson, Ernest Jr. Risner and Lonza Risner; 1 daughter: Phyllis Rose Risner; 8 brothers: Eddie Howard, Goble Howard, B.J. Howard, Roscoe Howard, Dillard Howard, Jr., Marvin Risner, Butch Risner, Gorge Risner and 1 sister: Bernice Risner Short.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Cremation was chosen and Goad Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
