Obituary

Elzie Ray Carter, 72, of Scottsville, KY passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023 at his residence.  The Scottsville, KY native was a former employee of Sumitomo and GAPCO in Gallatin, TN.  He was a son of the late Billy Ray Carter and Shirley C. Stinson Carter. 

 

He is survived by 1 son:  Eric Carter, Louisville, KY; 

1 daughter:  Tracy Todd and husband, Paul, Scottsville, KY; 

1 brother:  Joe Carter, Scottsville, KY; 

A brother-in-law:  Harold Frost, Scottsville, KY;

7 sisters:  Mary Collins (Buddy); Reta Goad (Tommy); Suzy Blankenship (Freddie); Lori Pennington (George); Lana Stovall (Scotty); Amanda Holland (Lee), all of Scottsville, KY; Sarah Carter (Robin), White House, TN; 

2 grandchildren:  Brittany Taylor (Dustin) and Jordan Riddle (Shanae); 

9 great grandchildren:  Keaton, Paisley, Knox, Oaklyn, Briley, Melody, Cooper, Olivia and Leia. 

He was preceded in death by a sister:  Libby Frost. 

 

Visitation with the family will be 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at Goad Funeral Home.  Cremation was chosen and Goad Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.   In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Shriner's Hospital for Children or St. Jude's.  Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
