Edward Thaxton, 72, of Adolphus, KY passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025 at his residence. The Portland, TN native was a former employee of Federal Mogul, former mechanic, a U.S. Navy veteran and attended Faith Assembly Pentecostal Church. He was a son of the late James Leonard Thaxton and Tommie Mae Grace Thaxton Frye and husband of the late Bonnie Lou Griffin Thaxton.
He is survived by 2 daughters: Renee Stinson and husband, Buck, Adolphus, KY; Daphne A. Slunaker and husband, Dawayne, Cottontown, TN;
8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 1 son: James Edward Shoulders; 1 brother: James David Thaxton and 2 sisters: Debra Ann Carter and Patricia Kay Beach.
Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Monday at Faith Assembly Pentecostal Church with Bro. Steven Troutt officiating and burial in Grove Ridge Cemetery in Kings Mountain, KY. Visitation will be 11:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday and after 7:00 A.M. Monday at Faith Assembly Church. Goad Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
