Doris Marie Scott

Doris Marie Scott, 87, of Scottsville, KY passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Greenwood Nursing & Rehab in Bowling Green, KY.  She was born in Petoskey, MI and was a former employee of Home Lawn Sanitarium and Harmon Motors in Martinsville, IN; former manager of Dollar Depot in Sebring, FL and former CNA at Mariner Health Home in Bradenton, FL.  She and her husband joined White Plains Baptist Church in Scottsville, KY in 2005 where she remained a member until her death. 

She is survived by her husband:  Delbert "Bud" Scott, Scottsville, KY; 

2 sons:  Robert Scott Rutan and fiancee', Mary Shockley, Plainfield, IN and Patrick Lee Rutan and wife, Leigha, Avon, IN; 

1 brother:  Gordon McGarey, Dewitt, MI; 

1 half sister:  Linda Schwartz, Dewitt, MI; 

10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by a son:  Richard Bennett; her father: Vernon McGarey;  her mother:  Ruth Keiser Auvinen and step father: Elmer; 1 brother:  Eugene McGarey and 1 half brother:  Gary Auvinen. 

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. EDT Monday, October 20, 2025 at Neal and Summers Funeral Home in Martinsville, IN with Pastor Leigha Rutan officiating and burial in Union Cemetery in Martinsville, IN.  Visitation will be at Neal and Summers Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. EDT Monday until service time.  Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. CDT Friday at Goad Funeral Home.
