Donald Logsdon Obituary

Donald Logsdon 73, of Scottsville, KY passed away Sunday, February 4, 2024 at his residence.  The Scottsville, KY native was a retired employee of Woodstock Mills, former employee of Marvin Wood Lumber Company, former commander of Halfrey Dalton VFW Post 5712 and All-State VFW Commander and attended Beech Grove General Baptist Church.  He was past President of the Scottsville Girl's Softball and the first girl's field was built under his tenure in 1975; softball coach of the Little Darlings (Junior League) and the Blue Angels (Senior league), softball coach for one of the first travel teams in Allen County-the Lady Blues, and sanctioned Softball umpire in the 4th Region (1986-1989).  He was past President of the Lady Patriot Basketball Booster Club (1983-1986), and the First Lady Invitational of the South basketball tournament was started under his tenure in 1983, sponsored by Danny Tabor and WLCK.  He was a son of the late Robert Clayborn Logsdon and Idrice Layfell Stinson Logsdon. 

 

He is survived by his wife of 56 years:  Phyllis Logsdon, Scottsville, KY; 

2 daughters:  Terri Logsdon Pardue and husband, Gary, and Donetta Logsdon, all of Scottsville, KY;

1 sister:  Jonell Perkins, Scottsville, KY; 

7 grandchildren:  John Eric Murray, Callie Murray Cardwell, Daniel Pardue, Kris-Anne Pardue, Jim Wells, Chris Wells and Stephen Medley; 

2 great grandchildren:  Charlotte Elizabeth Cardwell and Bryson Wells; 

Several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by a brother:  Ronnie Logsdon. 

 

Funeral service will be 12:00 p.m. Friday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Arthur and Bro. Bobby Pearson officiating and burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery with military honors by Glasgow DAV Chapter 20.  Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 7:00 a.m. until funeral time Friday at Goad Funeral Home.
