Dixie Ruth Carter Woodward, 93, of Scottsville, KY passed away Friday, January 2, 2026 at the Hospice House in Bowling Green, KY. She was born in Red Boiling Springs, TN and a long time resident of Scottsville. Dixie was a homemaker, former bookkeeper for Newman Sunoco and Bryant Lumber Company, a member of Dover Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a former Sunday school teacher and was involved in Bible school and the Ladies Bible Study group. She was a member of the DAR since 1997, where she served as corresponding secretary and historian, and the Allen County Historical Society. She was a daughter of the late Willie Barton Carter and Arphie Prudence McCrary Carter and wife of the late Chester Wren Woodward.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Martha Woodward Fowler and husband, Jeff and Jenny Woodward Bush and husband, James, all of Franklin, KY;
1 sister: Melba Perkins and husband, Richard, Scottsville, KY;
3 grandchildren: Wesley Darron Jones (Robertha); Hannah Ruth Coffee (Trent) and Emily Marie Cowan (Troy);
4 great grandchildren: Carter Cowan, Blake Coffee, Liam Jones and Vincent Jones;
2 step great grandchildren: Taylor Gooch (Cameron) and Raegan Coffee;
1 step great great grandchild: Lorali Gooch and host of loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 1 son: Mark Wayne Woodward and 1 brother: Roger Carter (Arthema).
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Monday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Charlie Patterson officiating and burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Sunday and after 7:00 A.M. Monday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Dover Missionary Baptist Church.
