David Gilman Lowery, 79, of the Adolphus and Stony Point Community passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024 at his home surrounded by family. David, a native of Sharon, MA but was born in Summerville, MA, was a retired Lt. Col. of the U. S. Army who served in Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom. David was a Stony Point Volunteer Fireman, EMR and former board president with the Stony Point Fire Department. He was also a former Nashville postman and retired Macy's Warehouse employee. David was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was a son of the late Gilman Lowery and Norma Howard Lowery.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years: Leah Lorraine Lowery, Adolphus and Stony Point Community;
1 son: Eric Atlee, Portland, TN;
2 daughters: Kimberly Atlee, Gallatin, TN and Andrea Friend, Franklin, KY;
2 sisters: Norma Ann Lowery, Bow, NH and Betsy Roos, Puyallup, WA;
6 grandchildren: Nina Friend, Bethany Friend, Ethan Atlee, Addison Atlee, Skylar Atlee and Morgan Atlee;
3 great grandchildren: Kc Westfall, Blaine Westfall and Isabella Friend;
2 nieces: Jennifer Iwen, Minneapolis, MN and Melissa Kelley, Souderton, PA.
Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Goad Funeral Home with Bishop Jeffrey Richmond officiating and honors by Stony Point V.F.D. Visitation will be at 12:30 p.m. Sunday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations for funeral expenses. Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
