David Keen, 72, of Cave City, KY and formerly of Scottsville, KY passed away Thursday, July 2, 2026 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY. The Indianapolis, Indiana native was a retired employee of T.V.A., a Viet Nam U.S. Navy veteran, a Christian, an avid football fan and member of Local 492. He was a son of the late Norman B. Keen and Geneva Miller McHaney.
He is survived by 1 son: James Keen (Christina), Cave City, KY;
1 daughter: Melissa Hardesty (Glenn), Bowling Green, KY;
1 brother: Paul McHaney (Cindy), Lafayette, IN;
2 sisters: Christina Terrell, Bloomington, IN and Shirley Schafer (Bill), Indianapolis, IN;
1 sister-in-law: Betty Keen, Adolphus, KY;
2 grandchildren: Victoria Vest (Charles) and Luke Shockley (Ashley);
3 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by 1 brother: Jesse Willard Keen.
Celebration of Life will be 4:00 P.M. Sunday, July 12, 2026 at Goad Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Whelan officiating. Visitation will be 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Sunday at Goad Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations for funeral expenses. Donations maybe made at Goad Funeral Home.
