David Calvert, Jr., 82, of Scottsville, KY passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025 at U of L Medical Center in Louisville, KY. The Scottsville, KY native was a retired Police Officer for the City of Scottsville, a member of the N.R.A. and was a Christian and saved at the age of 12 during a revival held by his grandfather. He was a son of the late William David Calvert, Sr. and Virginia Frances Dodson Calvert.
He is survived by 1 daughter: Sheila Marr (Michael), Scottsville, KY;
5 grandchildren: Jamie Brumley (Brian); JoBeth Shockley (Corey); Amanda Woods (Andy); Dustin Calvert and Jesse Calvert;
1 step grandson: Aaron Marr (Tori);
8 great grandchildren: Alden Brumley, Parker Brumley, Avery Shockley, Bodey Shockley, Madelyn Shockley, Silas Woods, Kaden Woods and Henley Calvert;
5 step great grandchildren: Aubree, Brentleigh, Skyler, Kyra and Payton Marr;
1 step great great grandchild: Rylen Kinslow.
He was preceded in death by 1 son: Eric Calvert and 1 brother: Phil Calvert.
Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Crescent Hill Cemetery with Bro. Lynn Herrington officiating. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Alzheimer's Association. Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
