Dannie Joe Britt, age 77, of Plainfield, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025. Dannie was born on January 16, 1948 in Scottsville, Kentucky, the son of Jesse D. and Dorothy Britt. He was, indeed, a Kentuckian through and through, even though the family moved to Indianapolis before he turned two and has called Indiana home ever since. Dannie graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1967, joined the Army in 1968, and served until 1970. After retiring from AT&T as a loyal employee for 35 years, he drove a school bus for Avon Community School District for 10 years. Dannie was a member of Ben Davis Christian Church for 47 years, where he was active in many ways through the years…from lawn and grounds support, driving the church bus, to serving communion during church service. Dannie was a huge college basketball fan, especially of the Kentucky Wildcats! He also thoroughly enjoyed going to coffee with friends at the Avon Chic-fil-A, eating at ANY Cracker Barrel, and working and being with his grandchildren, whom he loved more than life itself.
Dannie is survived by his wife Deanne, having just celebrated their 50th anniversary this past December; his children: Lindsay Dunbar, Jason (Michelle) Britt, and Shauna Britt; sisters Cheyanne (Mickey) Zink, Sandy (Mike) Chansler, and Connie Sue Britt; brothers Jeff (Zeny) and Dean Allen (Marsha) Britt; grandchildren Cooper and Casey Dunbar, Elijah and Makenna Boling ,and Faydakin Britt.
Graveside service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Dover Cemetery with Bro. Charlie Patterson officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Saturday at Goad Funeral Home.
