Connie Lee Majors Polston, 80, of Scottsville, KY passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Cal Turner Rehabilitation and Specialty Care. The Dycusburg, KY native was the daughter of the late Rollie Franklin Majors and Lena Smith Majors. She was a 1956 graduate of Crittenden County High School, she earned her Bachelors degree from Western Kentucky University in 1959, and she went on to earn her Master of Arts in Education from WKU. Mrs. Polston was an educator in the Scottsville and Allen County School systems for 37 years. During her career in public education, she positively impacted the lives of thousands of students, and her dedicated service will long be remembered.
She married Jimmy Polston on August 19, 1966. Jimmy and Connie made Scottsville their home, where Mrs. Polston was an active member of the community. She was a member of the Scottsville First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women's Friendship Circle, Allen County Retired Teachers' Association, Allen County Homemakers and served as president of the Twilighters Club for over 30 years. She was also a member of the Scottsville Garden Club, Southern States Ladies' Auxiliary and Democrat Women's Club. She was a former member of the Allen County Junior Miss Board, Allen County Foster Care Review Board and Lifeskills Board of Directors.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years: Jimmy L. Polston, Scottsville, KY;
One son: David W. Polston, M.D. and wife, Ellen of Rocky River, OH;
Two daughters: Cynthia Leann Shockley and husband, Tim of Scottsville, KY and Grecia Lynn Wilson and husband, Jeremy of Alvaton, KY;
Nine grandchildren: Latishia Brooke Woodcock and husband, Dakota, Sarah Marie Shockley, Nicholas Kane Shockley, Elena Helen Shockley, John Carter Wilson, Jay Christian Wilson, Gracelynn Elizabeth Wilson, Hope Elizabeth Polston and Drew Weber Polston;
One great grandson: Laken Allen Woodcock.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Marzee Majors, and infant son and daughter, twins Shelby and Sherry Polston.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM Wednesday and 7:00 AM until the funeral at 11:00 AM Thursday at Goad Funeral Home in Scottsville. Brother Danny Patrick and Pastor Shannon Boaz will be officiating. Burial will follow in Crescent Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Allen County Education Association Scholarship Fund. Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
