Charlotte Faye (Huffines) Rippy, age 80, passed away peacefully on February 21st surrounded by the love of her family. A God-fearing woman of deep and unwavering faith, Charlotte lived a life devoted to the Lord, her family, and her church.
Charlotte's faith was the foundation of her life. She was a faithful and devoted member of East Willow, where she worshiped, served, and formed lasting friendships. Her love for God was evident in both word and deed, as she lived out the truth of "Trust in the Lord with all your heart" (Proverbs 3:5). Her quiet strength, kindness, and compassion reflected a life centered on Christ.
Charlotte shared a marriage rooted in faith and devotion with her husband Norman, who preceded her in death. Her family finds comfort in the promise that she has been joyfully reunited with him in heaven. She was also preceded in death by her son, Tracy Rippy, parents, Johnnie and Minnie Huffines, and her brother, Danny Huffines (Margaret).
Family was Charlotte's greatest earthly joy. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose home was filled with prayer, encouragement, and unconditional love. She cherished time with her family and left a legacy of faith that will continue for generations. As Scripture reminds us, "Her children arise and call her blessed" (Proverbs 31:28).
She is lovingly survived by her family:
Daughter: Lesa Cross and husband, Martin, Hendersonville, TN;
1 sister: Peggy Eaton, Scottsville, KY;
4 grandchildren: Jacob Durham (Chelsea), Lucas Durham (Haley), Ryan Cross and Brent Cross (Madeline);
3 great grandchildren: Reed Durham, McKenna Cross and Lucy Durham.
She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews, whom she deeply loved.
Her family will forever treasure her wisdom, her prayers, and her steadfast love. Though her absence is deeply felt, her family finds comfort in God's promises. "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18).
Memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Patrick and Bro. Terry Bear officiating and burial in Robert's Tabernacle Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday and 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of service at Goad Funeral Home.
