Charles Wade Obituary

Charles B. Wade, 82, of the New Roe Community passed away Sunday, March 19, 2023 at St. Thomas West in Nashville, TN.  The Scottsville, KY native was a retired employee of Eaton-Cutler Hammer, a U. S. Army veteran having served in the Old Guard at Ft. Myers.  He was active in the military caisson for weddings and funerals and was in charge of President Kennedy's military caisson.  He was a member of Smyrna Church where he served as elder, song leader and former Sunday school teacher since 1968 and pastored several churches in Logan and Todd counties for 20 years.  He was a Gideon, member of New Roe Masonic Lodge #592 F & A M where he served as Past Master and secretary of the lodge for 30 years and District Deputy Grand Master and founding member of Stony Point Fire Department.  He was a son of the late Aubrey Neal Wade and Bonnie Ellen Wilson Wade and husband of the late Betty June Law Wade. 

 

He is survived by his wife:  Mary Wade, New Roe Community; 

2 sons:  Russell Boyens, Lakeland, FL and Matthew Boyens and wife, April, Bowling Green, KY; 

1 daughter:  Laura Boyens, New York City, NY; 

3 brothers:  Kenneth Wade, Bowling Green, KY; Jimmy Wade and wife, Judy, and Joe Wade and wife, Barbara, all of Scottsville, KY; 

2 sisters:  Brenda Perdue, Bowling Green, KY and Nelda Keith and husband, Wayne, White House, TN; 

8 grandchildren:  Kyle Wade Parker (Shianne), Jacob Parker and Brandon Lloyd; Brandon Boyens (Taylor), Trevor Boyens, Dillon Boyens, Ethan Boyers and Katelyn Boyens; 

4 great grandchildren:  Lennon Parker and Sebastian Parker; Scarlett Rose Boyens and Grayson Elijah Boyens.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter:  Jami Roppel. 

 

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Patrick, Bro. Keith Patrick, Bro. Gary Sullivan and Bro. Hillus Pardue officiating and burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery with military honors by Glasgow DAV Chapter #20.  Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday and after 7:00 a.m. Saturday until funeral time at Goad Funeral Home.  New Roe Masonic Lodge #592 F & AM will hold masonic rites at 6:00 p.m. Friday at Goad Funeral Home.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to The Gideons or the Galilean Home.   Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
